About Amanda

Amanda (she/her pronouns) is a Massachusetts native who obtained her undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Westfield University and her graduate degree in Social Work from Boston College.  She is a licensed clinical social worker in Massachusetts (#115429).

Amanda is well known in the Boston area for her expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and most recently served as the Chief Clinical Director at the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA).  She worked at the Laurel Hill Inn Eating Disorder Program for over a decade in all levels of care and served as the Program Director for the Intensive Outpatient Program.  She treats eating disorders from a Health at Every Size® approach and is passionate about advocacy efforts to smash diet culture.  In November 2019, Amanda joined forces with Harvard STRIPED, Jameela Jamil, activist and founder of I Weigh, Rep. Kay Khan, NEDA, MEDA, My Power People, and Be Real USA to educate Massachusetts lawmakers from across the state about eating disorders and advocate in support of two Massachusetts House bills to promote body confidence in young people.

In addition to her extensive training in eating disorders, Amanda also worked in college mental health for six years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where she provided therapy to college students struggling with anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, adjustment issues, self-esteem and relationship issues.  She also supports teens to prepare for college and gain the necessary tools to manage the transition away from home.

Amanda is deeply committed to her work and brings her big heart and authentic self to every relationship.  She is transparent and direct in her approach while maintaining warmth, compassion and a sense of humor.   She strives to create an accepting and non-judgmental space, while guiding her clients to really lean in to that vulnerable and tender place where inner wisdom and truth reside.  While she agrees that we cannot change the past, she helps her clients to change the meaning associated with it and rewrite the story line.

Amanda would be honored to be alongside you and support you in living your fullest life.  She looks forward to hearing from you.
